Improved Dual Pixel CMOS AF

Dual Pixel CMOS AF is Canon’s AF technology achieved by a sensor in which all pixels* combine both AF and imaging. With this unique structure, AF is possible over a wide area of the focal plane. Equipped with Canon's latest high-speed, high precision focal plane phase-difference AF even in scenes where AF is usually difficult, such as dark scenes.

Benefits of improved Dual Pixel CMOS AF

The AF area is expanded and it is now possible to focus in an approximately 88% horizontal by 100% vertical area.
Increased number of autofocus points from up to 49 to up to 143/99 (depending on the lens used) makes it possible to enjoy high precision autofocus with improved subject tracking.

Continuous Shooting Speed

Continuous tracking of the subject with high-precision allows you to comfortably shoot even subjects that move towards you. Maximum approx. 7.4 fps when servo AF is set. With fixed AF, a shooting speed of up to 10.0 fps is possible.
