Tejas Soni

Besides being a painter and sculptor, Tejas Soni is a remarkable wildlife photographer, who spreads his knowledge among young enthusiasts through various photography walks, exhibitions, tours and workshops.

With no formal training, but much unbridled passion, Tejas Soni started out as a painter and a sculptor. A post-graduate in literature he took his passion for art to the next level when photography happened unannounced. He chose his camera as a constant companion, capturing some of the rarest images of aerial wonders, to begin with. His work is a play of light and dark, shot through edgy details that brings an intense sense of depth and texture to his pictorial illustrations.

Tejas has rendered his services as an Art Mentor to children and adults, alike. Tejas proudly founded ‘Karastaan’, a group of like-minded people, to hone skills and assist them in photo tours and workshops.

Tejas started coaching young enthusiasts through photography tours to wildlife sanctuaries and reserves in Sattal, Barasana, Pushkar, Ranthambore, Bandhavgarh, Kaziranga, Hunsur, Kabini, Ranganathittu, Tadoba, Bikaner, Kanha, Dudhwa, Sandakphu, Sikkim and Ladakh. He enjoys sharing his experience and knowledge about photography and colours through photo walks, photo workshops, and guided photo-tours.

Since 2007, Tejas has worked in Thol, Gir, Kutch, Ladakh, Pushkar, Barasana, Sandakphu, Nal Sarovar Pariya, Dang District, Velavadar and Varanasi. The locations and landscapes served as a visual treat infused with brooding wilderness, ideal for photography. The shots have been published both in India and internationally. His work has gained recognition far and wide and it doesn’t come as a surprise that photo sharing websites like 500px recently dubbed Tejas as one of the top 12 awe aspiring photographers in the world.
