Shades of blue and hints of emerald, a peacock spreads its wings as the storm sets in.

The magical land of Gir has always surprised me with beautiful sightings that I cherish for a long time. Everytime on visiting Gir the excitement and joy is more than the last time. On my recent visit to Gir for a safari, the first of this season, I was blessed with yet another amazing sighting. At first we saw this mother lioness resting in the thickets. As the atmosphere got cooler after some time, the little lions came from near by bushes towards their mother one after other. A total of 3 cute cubs started cuddling with the lioness for the milk. The blessed lioness give in to her cubs demands and turn around to feed her cubs. I was watching this amazing this scene with delight. Captured on a trip to Croatia in the pre Covid era. It was almost sundown while driving towards the famous Plitvice Lakes National Park, just when I noticed the motorcycle atop a pole. This along with the abandoned cabin and the blue hour made for a perfect landscape photo opportunity.

Beauty in the Wild

I came across a roadside hedge with an unusual crab spider activity. There were hundreds of them - male, female, young and old. At least 10 on each plant but carefully maintaining their distance from each other. It was fun photographing them, slightest shake of the plant resulted in all of them dropping down like withered flowers, their fall arrested mid way by the fail proof drag line. Here is a male, just showing off.

I just realized I hadn't posted any amphibian pictures lately. So here is a Golden backed frog on a mossy patch.
