Rajesh Gupta, also known as The Lensocrat is an artiste by default. An unbounded enthusiast, an International Award-winning Celebrity Portrait photographer and cinematographer. He ranks on the top of the list of photographers from Eastern India and is considered amongst the top ten Wedding Photographers from India. Destination weddings and live edits are his forte. He has shot more than 300 weddings across the globe starting from Japan, Italy Kenya, Dubai, Vietnam, Thailand, Nepal Mauritius, Udaipur, Jaipur, Mumbai, the list goes on.
The documentary and BTS films directed and shot by lensocrat for streaming frames, Meghalaya and Udaipur chapters with the Green Oscar award-winning filmmakers brothers Rajiv &Vijay Bedi are considered as one the finely documented BTS films for Canon India.
He has been on the list of official Filmmakers for ITC Hotels pan India since
2010 – The curtain raiser film 'one of a kind’ conceptualized and shot by RG
during the launch campaign of ITC Royal Bengal went viral and is considered as
the best opening film.
He shoots everything moving and still.
In 2011, He was invited to Japan to do an extensive photo-essay on the cultural heritage and food habits of the people of Japan, Commissioned by Harry Chang on behalf of the Japan National Tourism Board and the Japan Film Academy.
Apart from being a filmmaker, RG is an extempore poet, a passionate cook, a theatre actor. He has acted in National award-winning Hindi plays directed by Usha Ganguly and performed over 350 stage shows. He has acted in many Tollywood serials and telefilms. He has also written and directed plays for children.
Awards
- He is the recipient of many prestigious international photography awards including a silver medal from FIAP for his Portrait Photography at the China 11th International Photographic Art Exhibition in 2005.
- His recent work includes the prestigious portrait shoot of the Oscar winner lyricist Gulzar, Mr. Shah Rukh Khan, Pandit Chitresh Das, Amrish Puri, Mithun Chakraborty, Pandit Birju Maharaj, Pandit Jasraj, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Mr Harsh Neotia, Ms Madhu Neotia, Mr Sanjiv Goenka, Mr Mukesh Ambani, Ms Nita Amabani. Ms Gunjan Jain.
- He had also worked in collaboration with Master painters, Paresh Maity, Wasim Kapur, Sanatan Dhinda, Chittrovanu Mazumdar and G R Iranna.
- Designer Raj Mahtani, Kiran Uttam Ghosh, Anamika Khanna, Manish Malhotra, Shyamlu Dudeja and many more.
- His corporate assignment includes a short film and ad campaigns, for various companies including, ITC Sonar, Sun Africa Hotels Kenya, Lafarge, Microsec, Aircel and Blackberry, Cisco. The India Story. Gujarat Ambuja.
